Our Approach
GWD-C considers planting design as a critical, holistic, and
living, breathing element in the landscape that helps
connect people with nature. So, for us, planting design is
much more than a decorative feature or afterthought in each
of our projects.
Our planting designs can be formal or informal, and always
work to include the integration of native plant species or
cultivars of native origin. We also aim to develop landscape
designs that promote a dependable sanctuary for native
birds, butterflies, insects, and other wildlife. As a
result, we are able to produce landscapes that generate an
exciting biological diversity and a more economical
maintenance routine—a win-win for our clients and the
sensitive environment.
Some Examples of our Work
Our expertise allows us to work with a wide spectrum of
design situations, from a formal landscape in a public urban
settings to an residential estate garden to an enclosed
corporate courtyard. Design features including pathways,
sculpted landforms, arbors, water features, statuary,
outdoor lighting, sculptural elements, butterfly and rock
gardens, and pockets of splashy-colored native flowering
plants may be incorporated as budgets and preferences
dictate.
